The Prying

Share Your Thoughts With Me.

A picture in front of the mirror
And i lost it all, my dignity
My hope, my dear nothing, my all

I thought i was averaging a bet
I thought i was in a safe zone
I thought it was a real one

Not any one of those
Nothing in it for me, no home run
Just some pain and sweet-old memory

The picture remains
Bits, ones and zeroes,
collecting digital dust

And the beautiful irony of it,
From the 6th to something else, new rims, new screen
And this mind of mine refuses to close some gates

My intentions were crystal clear
And the general kept his word
As he does in general, doesn’t he

At least that’s what he will say
When the bits reshape into his mind
Through the night through the day

Nothing clear on sight
I keep following the money
But still it is just not mine

I keep it all in the back of my head
This shoebox filled with debris
From a collision in july, 2023

I keep it all in sight
I keep digging on this case
Through the day, through the night

I click, it reshuffles, I reshuffle and it clicks
It is a process so mechanical
that even i am impressed

I keep digging
Like i am the savior of the day
My duty to make a fair play

I keep arranging that watch
To fit the particles of my life
Into this shoebox so small in size

I stop to make a day
I stop to make a life
I stop to make a dent on what’s in sight

I keep looking at every corner
for a face, for a smile, for a weird look
That would definitely make my heart stop for a while

Prolonging my stay just to reach that new day
Waiting for someone to notice the path,
As my fears project the aftermath

The coast is always greener on the other side
But the valley is still dirty from new old stories
Me you them all trying to reach some glory

Me you them, but still alone in this mess
Left to deal with it on my own
Making decisions like I’m responsible for it all

Letting this ease on it own
As it tightens from every vision of the scroll
Expands and contracts, a life of its own

Hello bud, how are you there
How is life in that plain terre
A bit colder to what you adhere…
